gphone is awful I have already passed my on to my wife. It all boils down to 2 things 1) Tmobile has gone super cheapo with their 3g network, making the phone super slow. 2) leaving the apps up to 3rd parties means the best apps are a little buggy, the worst apps are downright unusable. Steer clear not worth the money or the contract extension.

iphone is still the greater phone, not in features, which is all this phone seems to be offering in. Just like every other FAILED iphone killer. Ill get negative, cuz everyone here is a fucking tmobile G1 fanboy, but accept the fact, that this phone cant beat the iphone in web or speed or apps or looks. Also easy touch screen which goes to iphone. This looks terrible. If you want this for the cheap price, it looks like a good deal. But please dont say this is a better phone... It clearly is not.

No touch screen phone can compare to the Iphone. But what it can do is offer features that Iphone doesn't. I don't care for this G1 phone, it looks like an adult version of the sidekick. What I am waiting on is the new HTC Touch Pro. So if google comes out with there new phone, does that mean Yahoo is gonna come out with theres? or Alta Vista (if people still use that search engine). Or the AOL phone.. NOTHING BEATS THE IPHONE. It's still the best in the Market! Get over it people.

yeah. i got the SK2 3 months before the SK3 came out. i didnt know and i was like "shit if i only waited a little longer!" but oh well. regardless of being "out dated" i do love my SK2 and its the best phone I've ever had. almost 5 years and it still runs like new. its taken so much abuse and its like it refuses to die. i swear its like its made out of diamonds sometimes. built tough. im not trying to break it, im just saying its lasted me longer then any phone ive seen or owned. great phone

T:Mobile's G1 may not be the best but for the Google soft application (Andriod) it looks to have a solid future ahead. And did you compress the hell out of the picture!? it looks great for being on You-Tube, you got some skills man, what ever you did its AWESOME! (were still working out the bugs in our footage)

yea, the apple things is actually 50/50. Apple made the first touch screen phone in the 80's. Yet, it was a mere business office phone. In Addition, apple wasn't the first to implement the touch screen. Apple did what others did not. Advertise to the pits of hell. On the iPhone, you can't add any memory. And there' a 100 dollar difference in price between 8 and 16gb iphones. I think it's a lot easier to have an SD card. It's removable, so if you break your phone or something, you can easily transfer all your saved pictures, songs, whatever, to a new device with no trouble. There's supposed to be an update soon the allows the G1 to accept up to 32gb micro sd cards. And there are adapters, so you can use the same card for your camera or Wii or whatever

This phone is totally different then the iPhone. But if you want to go that route then the iPhone is just a copy of the HTC Herald (att 8525) but the 8525 had 3G on its first implementation and came out before the iPhone + HTC didnt make you pay twice for the same product to get the 3g.

seriously how stupid can people be? it has a god damn keyboard so complaining about its size is not a valid complaint. they can't make it the smallest possible with a keyboard you can use. use common sense. i for one view this as my dream phone since i always had sidekicks and never liked the idea of the iphone, because it had no tactile keyboards. this phone combines the two to make for an excellent phone for someone like me.

Better than the iphone if you like your phone to be hidiously ugly. Apple's iphone has nothing to worry about at this time. The G1 is a good first attempt at cracking into the advanced smart phone market, but it's definitely no iphone killer. The casing is ugly, cheaply made and the slide out qwerty keyboard isn't up to par to even current phones on the market.

There are so many combinations that are possible, the phone would explode before you got the right one, unless you were lucky lol. Seriously. It doesn't have to be a set number of dots, so 1x1, 1x2, 1x3, 1x4, 1x5, 1x6, 1x7, 1x8, 1x9, 2x1, 2x2, 2x3, 2x4, 2x5...you get the idea. It is secure. I'm pretty sure it would have a wipe/lock out and restore feature after a set number of failed attempts..

lol my bad, i was using the G1 to reply, cuz I was too lazy to turn on my comp. and i accidently hit the wrong button. Well the major annoyances are the fact that the End Call button is also used to lock the screen, and how the Browser doesn't run in the background. But I guess that just has to do with personal taste.

the behold is a good phone, it's a modified version of the instinct. But in my opinion the G1 is the way to go. it's an awesome device with a physical keyboard, touch screen, trackball, and physical buttons. You have 4 ways of input, where as the behold has 2. Plus the android community is producing some really nice applications. The behold's keyboard is decent, touchscreen keyboards aren't always the best. The G1's keyboard doesn't take long to get used to at all. I sat go with the G1. :]

I didnt have to change my plan, just added the $25 a month fee for internet. I have used the IPhone and with the hack features and I like the G! phone much better, but thats Just me. I like the setting features for each item you go to use, (phone, web browser ect)

It's probably not that good. These full feature phones have horrible battery life. I had an iPhone and the battery life was so so until the 2.1 update. Check it out. You might like it for yourself.

i have one thing to say about the youtube app on the g1. if you are connected to wifi the videos will play in the high quality feature for the video. but if say your using the edge network it will play the video in lower quality. it may play in high quality off the edge network if you have 4 bars i dont really know cause i havent tried when i have 4 bars. but this is a little piece of information for everyone to know

Adobe are excited about launching flash on the android platform (and google is VERY excited, because its something the iphone doesnt have lol). Proof of concept is here, plus a demonstration to the as shown in this video. I read some quotes somewhere from adobe reps. I'll dig them out some time. Its definately coming though mate. :) And like i say, it cant be an application because its not standalone, but then again, the g1 is awesome at integrating apps into other apps.

Flash wont be an application, it'll be in an update as its a utility built into the browser (a modified version of chrome i believe). It isnt out at the moment, but it shouldnt be long before it hits. Just keep an eye open on digg and other news sites. :)
