They made a big deal over making sure that the discs don't go in sideways, iMacs today have vertical disc drives. They actually made their screens adjustable back then, buy an iMac or a 24" LED Cinema Display today and there's absolutely no adjustment options, they stay in one place. And probably the biggest thing they've changed is that they stopped caring about their products price tag. Back then Apple had values and morality, but over time I feel like they're slipped away from all that.

I don't see why this is getting the thumbs down. This is genuine criticism from a user who had trouble with his hardware, what else is new? Mac's aren't perfect, their good, thats why I want one, but their not perfect. Don't act like anyone who finds a problem with a freakin' computer is somehow assaulting your decision, it's just how macs and pcs are. Mac all-in-ones are great for user convenience and nice design, but are difficult to upgrade. Towers can be a mess, but are easier to upgrade.

Also, mac mini's are not (and never were) meant to be your main drive. They are quick, cheap, and mostly appropriate for users in a transitional period between pcs and macs. As for the mac pro? It's not a consumer product. They're built for expandability and power, not use for the average consumer.

Thats not really true jakestarnes123. The aluminum iMacs today are still pretty flat, contain super drives, and conceal all the connections in the back. The only thing he "went against" from this video is putting the drive in sideways which may slow down performance, although I'm not sure that's a problem with today's technology.

like he said, if G4's volume is down or muted, then you shut down, next time you turn on your computer it will either not go 'bong' or it would be relly quite. thats how it is on my emac! if volumes full when i shut down then turn on the bong is write volume. but if my volumes down the bong is very quite

I like PPC better then Intel as well. Running on a last revision iBook G4 for my main machine. But I don't think you are correct in saying that the G4 will not be supported after Leopard. Perhaps it will no longer support the lower-end G4's, but I imagine that the high end 1.5 and 1.67 GHz PowerBook will still be able to run 10.6 or whatever comes after Leopard, and perhaps even the 1.33 and 1.42 GHz iBook, as well as the 1.42 GHz PowerMac.

If your original 256 is in the inside slot and you're putting 256 more in the outer slot, then yes, you're doubling. But if you're pulling out a 256 MB module and installing the same (in either slot), then you're not changing anything.

Heh, i took my GF G4 apart a while back and thought the heatpipe idea was really neat, allows the unit to be fairly quiet and compact considering its age. Im a pc repair tech so have loads of the dreaded compound around. But sadly we sold it recently as it was too long in the tooth! Nice vids anyways.
