Excuse me Knight, this man has made a huge contribution to the public, Chomsky is a major influence in the intellectual community, and the reason why he isn't heard by the majority of Americans is because of "Censorship", not of his choosing.
By: 21jumppp. on 03 Jan 09, 10:20:56
By: knight91105. on 02 Jan 09, 23:08:33
not wrong in saying that he is totally irrelevant in the scheme of things. More ppl read Home and Garden each month than have read his works. He only has a small cult of worshipers of a few thousand. His cowardice in facin major media venues labels him as a hippocrite who is really not interested in getting his message to the "public" but some1 who want the adulation of non-critical non-thinkin ultra liberal ditto heads. He's like Rush Limbaugh without out the popularity, lol. not wrong friend
By: Katharsis2006. on 02 Jan 09, 22:59:16
Umm Horrible attempt at an analogy there. Brain surgeon vs. whether someone debates people or not. The fact remains, he does and has debated people that challenge his views. You were wrong in saying he doesn't. There's no getting around it. And like I said, Dershowitz debate was very recent. So ya... you're wrong. Other than that, have a great day.
By: knight91105. on 02 Jan 09, 22:48:09
Let's get linguistic here, I said I don't kno how ANYONE takes him seriously. And fact is 99.9% have NEVER heard of him & nevr will. Step dad's from New Brunswick by the way. No I don't read narrow-minded idealogical literature. Wouldn't read him anymore than i would Limbaugh or Coulter (diff. side same coin although there much more known) Yes it does count that it was decades ago, wouldn't want a brain surgeon who hadn't done surgery in 4 decades workin on u, would u? lol
By: Katharsis2006. on 02 Jan 09, 21:51:20
But now ur arguing that ppl don't know Chomsky, though u've already conceded that he is taken seriously. Sounds like a self-defeating argument here. So I dont understand what ur point is or what ur trying 2 argue here. Have u ever looked into Chomsky's contribution to linguistics, or his influence on BF Skinner's behaviourist revolution? You HAVE heard of Skinner at least right?Or read any of Chomsky's works on international affairs?
By: Katharsis2006. on 02 Jan 09, 21:48:22
U were wondering y ppl take him seriously, and I just gave u the reasons. U said he doesn't debate ppl that challenge his views, and I just pointed out that he has. WHEN the debates took place is irrelevant, and so is whether you've heard of these people or not. U said he doesn't debate ppl that challenge his views period. Btw... These are famous ppl.I'm Canadian and I've heard of Dershowitz. He is the Felix Frankfurter Professor of Law at Harvard Law School and the debate with him is very recent
By: knight91105. on 02 Jan 09, 21:25:03
Ummm... nevr heard of perle, vagely of dershowtize (wasn't that "debate" in the 60s? lol). Well in either case 99.9% of population nevr heard of them either just like chomsky. Wat kind of colleges in my area? Alas, the ones that the sons & daughters of the workin class attend. meaningless anyway since true education takes place after academia in real world. Had Psych, minored in Polisci (under 2 liberal profs who nevr mentioned him) He's a welfare reciepient who can't make it real world
By: Katharsis2006. on 02 Jan 09, 21:00:21
Umm no. Type in Perle Chomsky, or Dershowtize Chomsky, just to start off. by the way... The most quoted thing is not simply off Wikipedia. It was an actual research done. He is the most quoted person in the Humanities that is living today I dunno what kinda colleges there are where you're from, but it's pretty hard to escape Chomsky's name. His influence is known in Psychology (as almost single-handedly halting the behaviourist revolution), poli-sci, philosophy, linguist.
By: Nederlandac. on 02 Jan 09, 18:20:59
By: knight91105. on 02 Jan 09, 14:30:21
Well 1st of all thx for the personal insults, 2nd if he's debated on any major venue please show me link on youtube where he talks to any1 other than his sm. cult of non-critical thinkin followers. Yes I've read a book on Indonesia. Fact- go on street ask 1000 ppl, 95+% never heard of him. Majority college students never heard of him. Haven't read a single book that lists him as source, and read all the time. Wikipedia claim him as most quoted intellectual, that where u got that claim, lol.
By: Katharsis2006. on 02 Jan 09, 12:53:18
lol u must be crazy, 'cause he's debated many people, and has been on far too many media outlets where his views were challenged & he proved 'em all wrong. Either ur 2 stupid 2 realize this or ignorant of this or delusional He's the most quoted living person, and the most influential/famous intellectual right now. That's y people take him seriously. Now u know Asian countries benefiting from providing cheap labour 2 rich companies? That's just absurd. Ever read up on Indonesia? Didn't think so.
By: knight91105. on 01 Jan 09, 22:00:11
Y ppl take this guy seriously I'll never know other than ideologies are the new religions. He refuses 2 debate r go on any form of media where his views will b challenged. We have had globilization since Europe crossed the Atlantic but for Europe only. What is finally happening is that Asia n others are now benifiting as well n this liberal who supports those of color is opposing a system that allows them 2 finally prosper. Read a book about China n India. This guy is a welfare academic, getajob

By: 21jumppp. on 27 Dec 08, 17:47:02
By: weihbe. on 22 Dec 08, 08:33:59
You said it yourself, "races evolved with different physical attributes for various reasons." But my point was the only biological difference cross-ethnicity between humans is skin color. So you're still an idiot.
By: Demostheness09. on 22 Dec 08, 08:19:14
Thanks for the biology lesson, but nobody said that we aren't all humans. Secondly your getting your terms mixed up. There is a difference between "race" and "species". And you also took one particular type of distinction to prove your point. Races evolved with different physical attributes for various reasons. Would say that making distinctions between types of dogs is fallacious? Making distinctions between races is natural, the problem starts when people define a race by these distinctions...
By: weihbe. on 22 Dec 08, 01:31:57
Completely wrong. Skin color, the most common distinction between the 'races' is solely due to the concentration of melanin. Melanin protects against UV light, and for the most part, the average skin color has been tied down to the levels of ultra violet radiation. So you're completely wrong. We're all humans and any distinction is fallacious
By: Demostheness09. on 19 Dec 08, 22:45:56
No, there are several races in the human species.
By: EaklbW. on 18 Dec 08, 10:43:36
----------has had it's chance.
By: EaklbW. on 18 Dec 08, 10:43:13
Chomsky wants to get rid of agricultural subsidies (8billion in USA); very free market. Minimum wages have been skyrocketing in China over the past decade; companies have even been shifting production to Vietnam &c. because wages are lower there. Why do you expect Nike to lobby for improved labour standards? Aren't they dependant on whether the government of the country in question decides to introduce reforms? And if that is then opposed by big business, then the free market
By: NeoOneOrg. on 18 Dec 08, 02:24:25
True economy is based upon human dysfunction as we loose instinctive intuitions that we are born with, all economy is based upon the gift of perception, perception is based on our duality. Imagine if we could use the true psychology of duality/perception which there is one..We could eliminate much government, the government and economy is designed now to fail due to inflation yet we the people allow it. Marshall McLuhan we create the world and then become the world, I can explain in metaphysics
By: Enysvar. on 16 Dec 08, 16:22:47
humans arent split up in races you dumbwit, there is ONE race period.
By: ahset. on 15 Dec 08, 02:56:48
your name is not very fitting. Think harder.
