Cenk, you're missing the point here. President-elect Obama is playing the "good cop" here. He wants the record to show he extended the laurel. But the Dems voting to keep him in the caucus, let alone as chairman of the Homeland Security Committee? Tain't gonna happen. And Joe is not looking at re-election in 4 years. He is 66 years old, is not in great health and knows that the jig is up for him in CT after this, his last term in office. Lamont has that seat in 2012. Mark my words!

In some respects I feel sorry for what is going to happen to him. I believe he will be striped of his chairmanship and basically get forced out of the democratic party. Susan Collins the Senator from Maine and Olympia Snowe the other Senator from Maine, also Senator Arlen Specter from Pennsylvania are some of the most Left-wing Republicans in the Senate, and ALL 3 of them agree with the Democrats more than they agree with the Republicans in the Senate. All 3 of them are willing two work across the aisle with Democrats and has said they won't filibuster with GOp's. Their constituents are pretty liberal. Dems get 3 extra Senators. PLEASE, GET RID OF LIEBERMAN.
