I think your one of the few on this threat that has any brains. These socialists just don't get it. I feel no obligation to pay for other peoples fuck up and medical problems. Besides publicly funded roads, police, ect. is lawfully within the scope and authority of the goverment.

It's amazing how the neo-con-artists want to cherry pick-and-choose the definition of "Socialism". The just of Socialism is Something that is funded by taxpayer dollars AND run by some form of government, Federal, State, AND/OR local.

traw:"Shouldn't health care be a basic right as a human being?" No. Food is not a right, clothing is not a right, and shelter is not a right. If you have so much money and feel guilty for not helping the poor enough, then YOU go buy them health care.
By: XtrAwexome. on 22 Dec 08, 20:05:31
So you're saying that every industrialized nation (Except for the USA) is communistic because they have socialized health care? Well, then you are really stupid. HMO's are by definition, set up to deny health care. How else would they make money? They can deny necessary health care to dying people and people complain about abortion and stem cell research because of their religion? I read the bible and it says you should help the poor. Shouldn't health care be a basic right as a human being?

toco:"They'll SOCIALISE the debts of the Banks and the Motor Industry but Socialism is isn't it?" Yes it is. We did not ask them to socialize the debt. They decided to do that on their own, after the people asked them not to.
By: antoconno. on 15 Dec 08, 02:16:09
Your system is falling apart at the seems, comrade and what will the governments of the Western World do??? They'll SOCIALISE the debts of the Banks and the Motor Industry but Socialism is bad isn't it???? Clowns.
By: vlunney. on 12 Dec 08, 02:02:15
didn't the government just piss $14 bilion for judges? at the district court level they make in the $100k area.Truly a group that needs raises while the elderly who did REAL WORK their whole lives are being accused of draining the economy. How about if each state took half of it's equity and put it into tax free municipal bonds and put that into medicaid for everyone making under $50k a year regardless of age?
By: WeedaPeople. on 11 Dec 08, 20:53:44
(cont)What is absurd is knowing full well how messed up The Federal Government is, complaining about it on a dialy basis, then thinking they are the ones we should turn over our health care to. Every aspect of the U.S. Federal Government is wasteful, and the track record fiscally is the worst in the history of history. And you think these same people are somehow going to save you. Where does that head in the sand thinking come from?
By: WeedaPeople. on 11 Dec 08, 20:49:06
cpdu:"publicly funded roads...publicly funded schools...publicly funded fire dept" Sorry commie boy, that does not fly. Most of that is state and locally funded, not Federally. The problem we have with Federal programs is that they do not work. FEMA - Ask New Orleans how well being dependent on the Federal Government worked for them. Medical care - Hawaii's Keiki care, Walter Reed and VA facilities are all failures.
By: macpduff. on 11 Dec 08, 16:38:11
Dear Comrade weedapeople; You drive on publicly funded roads, can send your children to publicly funded schools, if your house catches on fire, a publicly funded fire dept will put it out, etc. There are a lot of services Americans already enjoy and have determined that are best provided publicly. You are also free not to use these services. Why is America the only civilized country still debating the question of national health care? We spend more per person and get less access. It's absurd.
By: WeedaPeople. on 11 Dec 08, 14:21:18
cpdu:"If the government is going to pay the Medicare (and Medicaid I would add) bill, we also have to control the prices being charged." Then we can't have any criticism of the system, so we have to control the newspapers. Then we must control what people eat so they do not get fat or unhealthy. Then we have to control where they work so they will not be forced into unhealthy environments. Isn't that right..."comrade"?
By: WeedaPeople. on 11 Dec 08, 14:17:13
hani:"I'm out of here and unto France." Awesome. We are much better off without people like you. Your chosen "handle" explains volumes about you. Are you sure France wants you?
By: macpduff. on 10 Dec 08, 17:15:24
That's why we can't have a Medicare system paid by the government, while having the medical care provided by private sources like hospitals and doctors. If the government is going to pay the Medicare (and Medicaid I would add) bill, we also have to control the prices being charged. Other countries that pay the medical tab, also control the medical providers; therefore controlling costs. Right now were trying to sustain a hybrid of gov and private. We need a commplete national system.
By: Euthanizednigga666. on 10 Dec 08, 16:15:24
Whatever...It would work if we focused on making it work. It certainly does the rest of the industrialized world! Anyways it doesn't matter, in two years if changes aren't being made because of legions of plutocrat sympathasizers like you, I'm out of here and unto France. No more posts from me...
By: WeedaPeople. on 10 Dec 08, 14:21:32
(cont)Think about it for a moment...without preconceptions or the desire to get what you think you want. You say politicians are pimps for the Insurance Industry. Okay...so you can't trust them. But Walker has no dog in the fight. He is not a politician, he is a former Federal Employee who has no reason to lie. He is NOT running for office. He will not gain or lose if you believe him or not. That alone should tell you something. Watch the video. Especially around 3:20 min into it.
By: WeedaPeople. on 10 Dec 08, 14:14:53
iota:" The solution would be one like in Britain, Japan or France that is way cheaper, sustainable..." That is the problem. It is not sustainable here. 90 million people are ready to quit working within the next 20 years and stop paying payroll income tax, and collect Social Security and Medicare. That is 3 times as many people than who are on those programs now, with that 90 mil helping to pay, where they will no longer help. Walker is telling you the truth. He has no reason not to.
By: WeedaPeople. on 10 Dec 08, 14:09:20
iota:"It doesn't take a genius to see how the system works" You mean how it "Doesn't work". Hawaii is exactly the model you propose in how wrong it will be. People dropped their private systems for the "Free" care, and went to the Doctor for any little issue because it was "Free". Why pay when someone is giving you care "Free" So the system went broke immediately. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out why we can't afford to make care "Free". Abuses doom the attempt to failure.
By: WeedaPeople. on 10 Dec 08, 14:05:12
iota:"You'll be getting that back" Yeah...good luck with that. 90 million baby boomers will retire within the next 20 years and stop paying into SS. They will no longer work, so they will no longer have payroll income to tax, which is where SS gets it's money (7.65% of your annual salary). You hear that? That is the giant sucking sound of the well going dry. SS is not fine, and that is why it has been an issue for decades which has never been resolved.
By: thepatriotacts83. on 10 Dec 08, 05:14:51
You are assuming things about me that aren't true. I am 100% opposed to Obama's health care plan which has shown to fail completely(Massachusetts, Hawaii, etc). The solution would be one like in Britain, Japan or France that is way cheaper, sustainable, not to mention universal. The problem is politicians both Republican and Democrat don't want it cuz they are pimps for the insurance/medical industry.
By: thepatriotacts83. on 10 Dec 08, 05:02:48
Hawaii is NOT an example of single payer government run health care. It is a halfass attempt at universal care that forces employers to provide PRIVATE insurance. It does nothing to confront the problem of a profit driven system that values making money over helping people. It doesn't take a genius to see how the system works. Private insurers want to make a profit and thus insure only healthy people they don't have to spend $ on. The unhealthy (costly) ones get put on the government's tab.
By: thepatriotacts83. on 10 Dec 08, 03:22:56
You do save for the future. Next time you get your payroll check take a look at how much has been taken and put into Social Security. You'll be getting that back. And just cuz the head of the GAO says something doesn't mean his arguments are immune to criticism. Medicare is a totally separate program that is in trouble; Social Security is just fine.
By: letmytechspit. on 10 Dec 08, 00:14:42
thats why it in the hole right....why it used to be 1 paying for 1 then it went to 4 paying for 1 in the socail security systm now its about 32 to 1 so its a failure and will drain out soon like its been predicted...and every1 says we need to cut defense spending...why? its a fraction of the whole budget socail security already beats it and healthcare would top it all...so whats your idea to help and economy? spend more?
By: letmytechspit. on 10 Dec 08, 00:11:16
how are you any different then you saying the republicans are to blame you havent brought any argument to the table you said and opinion ontop of another opinion about the right party....tobad its not just them that dont support it....and just so you know you think that republicans are old white rich men...well the democrats in house and senate are the richest and they get it by their own investments by preying on the middle class not helping it....your a fool
By: WeedaPeople. on 10 Dec 08, 00:02:38
hani:"Universal Health Care would work anytime" Hawaii just tried it. It failed after only 7 months.
