I can't find any info on the Viper being "kicked out" of Le Mans. The Viper Raced in the GT1 class in 96 with 10th overall at 24h Le mans. Then it moved to the GT2 class where it dominated. It also raced in the GTS class in alms and dominated. They quit racing because Dodge cut it's factory funded endurance racing in 2000, and Oreca (the company that helped build the Le Mans car) went to the prototype car class in 2000.

Totally. Everybody else was threatened so they had to come up with a 1.2 milllion dollar car while we were on top with a mere $150,000 car. Like the Enzo who wants to shift a car with wings on the steering wheel. I know the Enzo is fast but I know they feel kind of bad with wings on the steering wheel. That is really fast. I was impressed with the Vipers when they won that European race circuit repeatedly. I forgot whan what it was called but they raced against BMWs and Porshes, etc. They were like 700 HP. Vipers look kick ass too. They get the most looks right under a Lamberghini.

not really, if your racing a better car you can kind of expect it. The Superleggera is more expensive and also has the TT kit installed, it would hurt more for the guy in the Superleggera if he didn't walk on the guy with the just a regular gallardo and TT.

Sorry to be a bother guys! This is a nice video however.. It illustrates how quickly you will flat line your powerband with smaller turbines.. Sure smaller turbines are very fun, and make the car feel powerful.. However you can clearly see that the SE flat lined much quicker with smaller turbines. Where as the Superleggera kept increasing boost efficiency the faster the car traveled forward.. This is due to the boost temperature getting colder, as the car traveled faster..

That's why I always say, if you use Ball Bearing turbos and Large Turbines, you can't go wrong! I use a Dual Ball Bearing T04Z turbo on my V6 Mustang, with a 1.00 A/R turbine.. This is setup in a Twin Scroll plumbing setup on a Single turbo.. However, the Larger turbine pays off, when racing Z06's.... From a roll they get the jump on me, but once I'm spooled, I reel them in and walk! On the street, the twin-scroll and dual ball bearings make the car fun on stop light to stop light runs..

The Superleggera has a wicked TQ curve! It put like 2 car lengths real quick, from a come from behind roll! He is obviously using larger turbines than the SE.. It took him longer to spool up, but once he got full boost, those larger turbines allowed much more airflow over the SE..

Its new technology, there are things Dodge had put on the SRT-10 motors that havent allowed stopped the viper from reaching the same level of performance on top of that the old GTS vipers had all forged parts making it completely mod friendly while to save weight the SRT-10 has cast parts which doesnt hold up to the same pressures.
