Freedom of speech is great. However, it must be used responisibly. Rushdie will have known what was to happen. He was disrespuctful and also caused many many needless deaths around the world thanks to his book. I think that reason alone is enough to hate him. He didn't agree with the way Islam worked, wich is fine. But he chose to ridicule it instead of documenting what he thought was wrong. I am not muslim, but understand what Yusuf Islam means.

after watching that video, it implies nothing of a violent type as that stated in the article. its funny how people can turn such a good way of answering a question to 'evil'.the video was a scenario doesnt mean its the real thing. thankyou for posting the video because after i watched it i no longer thought what he said was wrong as you stated in the article because its not like he said oh i want to kill him, he was answering a scenario..
