also when the hippo charges the croc it isnt in the same frame and when the birds are eating the impala it seems to have a head but when the croc drags it away it dosnt seem to, all highly dubious. All in all a highly edited video of real events but from what i can see im guessing the hippo is the one that decapited the impala :)

I was wondering if the hippo was trying to do something else other than what the commentary is saying, like trying to kill/eat it. But after watching a few times, it's pretty clear that the hippo is nurturing the impala. It has it in it's mouth, the takes it out and holds the head and nurturing kind of way, and I think also to inspect it. I don't know if it was CPR, maybe it thought putting it in it's mouth would warm the impala up or something, but it's definitely trying to look after it.

it just goes to show that big animals have a heart if they are treated right in the first place. These pictures are ones that i will never see again and will never be able to absorb them fully as it is something that has never been seen. Hopefully hunters will learn from this . Most probably not. It was a real tear jerker to think that under so much muscle and natural instinct they have a heart of gold. We in Animal Rescue Tasmania are absolutely astounded to see such a thing all is not lost.
