If you are interested, there is a nice little video (unbiased) on the changes of power in the middle east at mapsofwar (dot) com /images/EMPIRE17.swf Keep in mind that not all of the empires shown in the video had control over Israel, as I have outlined those below specifically. This pertains to your most recent post in that these changes of empires came along with wars and much bloodshed, each taking place well before 1917. Even during each empire there were coups, rebellions, and the like.

Continuing on that, the Crusades even included parts literally within present day Israel, such as in 1099 when it was captured. More recently, the Mongol conquests captured the Greater Syrian region in 1259 and further in 1281, with a later invasions in 1299 and 1312. Timur, the great military leader, actually ruled over the area as well before his death in 1405. After this of course are the Turks and the Ottoman Empire when Israel changed hands plenty of times, most before 1917.

Not to be insulting, there was a great amount of conflict in the region before 1917. There were the Akkadian conquests, Battle of Kadesh, Persian conquests, Greco-Persian Wars, Macedonian conquests, Roman-Persian Wars, Arab conquests (including wars with the Byzantines where the "arabs" took over all of Syria (including "greater Syria, i.e. Israel), Armenia, Egypt, North Africa, Southern Italy, Persia, Afghanistan, India, and other such regions,) oh dont forget about the crusades

Actually, Hamas began the firing first. When Israel retaliated, it hit weapons cache's that were stored underground, which highly magnified any explosions caused by the bomb blasts. These explosions, from weapons stored by Hamas, were most likely caused repercussive damages.

I do feel sorry for those kids. I feel sorry that their parents are so stupid as to vote Hamas into power.
