this is deathcore, and it does suck. screamo is a good genre of music though. Its basically mixing emo, hardcore/posthardcore and punk. Bands like Saetia, Circle Takes the Square, and Hot Cross are screamo, and they are really good bands. This is just shitty deathcore.

That's just because music keeps getting more worse as time goes by. That's my theory for it anyway. There's music that came out 3 or 4 years ago I wouldn't listen to, but after listening to the songs that are popular now, it makes those other songs seem a lot better by comparison. I understand where your coming from about all of us thinking too much about hidden meanings. This song means exactly what the artist wants it to mean. If he wants it to mean "Pie is the best dessert ever" that's what it means, but we can have our own opinion, and I'm just mentioning what I think it's about. I love the song. Understandable, to each his own of course. But if you listen to the words, it implies perfection, and in my personal belief to be perfect is to be god. To say all the right things at exactly the right time, perfection. Then the change shift from the singer saying He is everything you want, everything you need, to "I am" pretty much putting it into His terms. but that's what's amazing about this song, there's so many different ways to interpret this song.

So I'm just playing devil's advocate with this one. How does the ending quote not fit the song? It does actually fit it very tightly. This song can be taken as a very spiritual song. About how God is everything we need, but he means nothing to us, because he isn't what we WANT. The ending quote sums up the entire song. The entire purpose to the song can be summed up in that one quote.

I mostly agree. Event Horizon's ghostly hellish atmosphere is pretty much unmatched in sci fi horror, and the monsters in The Thing are far scarier than the ones in Alien/Aliens imo. You could be right next to an Alien in The Thing and not even know about it. But the Alien movie franchise (Sigourney Weaver) catapulted (if not started) the whole sci fi movie horror genre. It deserves credit for that alone, not to mention that the 1st 2 movies in the franchise were amazing.

Very eerie film. It's basically House on Haunted Hill, The Shining, Hellraiser and Alien all in one. It does feel sort of incomplete but I suspect a studio fuck up in this as Anderson confirmed the studio had ordered him to cut 20+ minutes of carnage to reach an R rating. It's too bad we won't see a director's cut of this, although I probably would be having nightmares if I saw the rest of the footage.

Even in slow motion, some of it's still hard to figure out. It looked like an erotic dismemberement bloody orgy of sorts. Organs being ripped out, people puking up internal bloody stuff, people biting and grabbing each other, and one woman looked like she had her arm up some dude's ass for starters. Pretty sick, revolting and disturbing stuff to put it mildly. Whether in normal speed or slow motion, it takes a strong stomach to watch.
