well, the front offset crash tests are more realistic than the ones the nhtsa does. the iihs tests imitates the vehicle impacting another car (the iihs front barrier has a deformable face). the barrier crumples like a real car would. only 40 percent of the car's length is crashed into the barrier. that is more demanding than the full frontal test as the energy from the impact is spread over a smaller area. cars are rated on head, chest and leg injuries and also on structural integrity.

I have a 2007 Volkswagen Jetta in blue. i did sell Volkswagens for 10months in a local dealership. ( NO LONGER SELL VW) They are safe,very safe on par with Volvo s40, A3 Audi,renualt, and pug. suburu or just dont have a side crash! front ok Jetta is better than mazda 3,6,camary,honda have prob with side impact. front ok. Simple, Buy a european car!! easy, you get what u pay for. or Buy a Mercedes Benz!!!

arent crash tests kinda unrealistic?? i mean, usually when u hit a car in front of u, the front car is still moving so the crash is not that bad. ive had a couple, and my car never hit that hard. if somebody could explain, that would be awesome

This is Jetta. Bora is the older VW sedan model (99-2004) and Jetta is the new one (2005-). Bora was marketed in Americas as Jetta and in Europe as Bora. The new model has only one type marking, which is Jetta (both in Europe and Americas). I had -99 VW 1.6 Bora and now I have 07 1.9TDI Jetta. Great cars both.

"W"stands for"Weiterentwicklung"(type Evolution),and"R"for "Roadster".The prefix attributed to the Coupes is "C"(=Coupe),whereas all-terrain models bear a"G"(for"Gel�nde",which means"all terrain"). Station waggons bear a"S"before the type number(do not know the meaning in german,maybe the"S"refers to the english term"station"). The prefix"W"was attributed to a Merc for the 1st time way back in the early 20th century.

easy guys, this model of mercedes is not the w220 nor the w124, this model is the w210 built from 1996, the test looks creepy, but the previous mercedes benz e-klasse, the w124 is WAY much safer, they dont build'em like they used to... glad im not a crash dummy XD...
