Let me clarify the RELOCATION part, Bert Bell (the former commissioner) RELOCATED the team which means the LEAGUE not the owner relocated the team when the Dallas Texans was not doing well in Dallas and it became the Baltimore Colts. Just as in any FREE ENTERPRISE system the LEAGUE or OWNER can move or relocate a team when the business isn't doing well which the LEAGUE did in 1951 and what IRSAY did in 1984. Until you bring some real knowledge to the table to counter me this debate is over.

(Continued from the previous post) The Dallas Texans were not "stolen" as you say and they became the Baltimore (now Indianapolis) Colts. They were relocated because of the promise made by Bert Bell to the city of Baltimore. So don't you EVER say that I don't know my history beacuse I FORGOT more Baltimore football history than you EVER know. If my mind is "mediocre" that what does that makes yours. I rest my case. Apparantly you don't know me very well. Since I have IYO a "mediocre" mind (please use spell check when you deal with a grown person), I have some FACTS coming from a "mediocre" mind. Back in 1951 when the AAFC folded, then commissioner Bert Bell told the city of Baltimore that if you can sell 10,000 season tickets in a 120 day period, then Baltimore would have an expansion or relocated team to play in the 1951 season. Well Baltimore did that in 30 DAYS and the Dallas Texans were RELOCATED.

I live in Owensboro, Kentucky and I must say that it's an absolute shame that Nicky's hometown couldn't watch him race at Indianapolis. The power was out from extremely high winds and it took, for some people, as long as 3 days to restore power. If there's anybody who know's where on the internet I could find this race in it's entirety, that would be tremendous!

That could never happen now. The F1 Concorde Agreement means that F1 racers can't miss a race unless they're injured. They can't race anywhere else. Indy qualifying takes weeks, they'd miss Grands Prix. The Monaco Grand Prix is on the same day, the jewel in the F1 crown. The Spanish Grand Prix two weeks earlier might have to be moved. The F1 cars are different to Indycars too, so wouldn't be allowed, the chassis could only be Dallara etc. No F1 driver at his peak will drive in the Indy500 again.

I agree it is the worlds greatest event. They need to move it back to Memorial Day Monday. That's what made it so great with all the Indy Car, F1, NASCAR and road racers all together. 50 cars competing for 33 spots. I was there. Crazy race, with that finish and Stan Fox's horrible crash it certainly was a memorable day. That and it is Indy. It won't be the same without the turbocharged cars but it is better now since the merger. If you've never been, go.

I've always thought of this running of the 500 as one of the all-time great races. The more times you see it the more you realize how many stories form up as the race wears on and play out as the laps tick away. Shame no Indy 500 has been as good since the split, though if you ask me 2006 with the close finish between Hornish and Marco Andretti was at least decent.

Picture this, you go in the pits and then they realize, no, we shouldn't have given you the penalty. Not much they can do about it by then. There was nothing to be lost by staying out. The fault is all Goodyear's - after all Villeneuve had been penalized on almost the exact same sort of move earlier in the race. An amazing racing story, and a highlight in Veilleneuve's career.

Yes, Spyro Gyra are nice guys. I used to work for a concert promoter and one of the gigs was Spyro Gyra. I had a great time. They were a pleasure to work for. They are gentle men as well as truly talented musicians. Tommy Schumann is a gentle man as well as an incredibly gifted musician. Scott Ambush is a sweetheart who most certainly does build his own basses. I also LOVE to watch Julio play guitar! He's great!!!! And.......no one is God, but God!

Every canditate says that biodiesel is only a good thing. But there are huge problems concerning biodiesel. If it's made out of corn or other eatable plants, biodiesel would contribute a lot to the world wide hunger problems. Prices of corn would rise if more of it would be used for biodiesel. Other problems are the clearing of the rainforests for big monocultures that need a lot of fertilizer (often made of oil). The soils get leached out... Biodiesel is no sustainable energy!

I could not agree more with many of these comments. Remember when Gore proposed a $0.25 tax on gas to prepare for the future? It was crucified as a certain means to destroy the economy and ruin the American way of life. Hmmm- Gas was 1.25 then. Where is it now? Who has been in charge for 8 years? Let Us Choose: 1. $1.75 gas with mass transit, alternative fuel sources and a comprehensive energy policy? 2. $4.75 gas and a plan to drill to drill off the coast of Santa Monica & Naples, FL.?

why so down on big oil? they do what all companies do - make profits. fault lies with all of us - WE built an infrastructure with densities too low to sustain public transit, WE chose not to invest in alternative sources even after the embargo in the 70's, and WE elected leaders who did nothing to relieve our dependence on foreign oil energy is the biggest issue this election- its the reason our economy is in shambles and the reason our foreign policy is now at the mercy Chavez/Ahmadinejad
