I'm not really sure how you define "complex" but the mere fact that we can control these animals is unsettling. It seems very inhumane to me, and to be honest I'm more worried about the treatment of the animals than being controlled by a computer. Sometimes we go too far because we forget to respect the lives of other organisms.

poor moth, impressive though.

Check out google about AIDS-immune people; you will be surprized...
By: Makyui. on 07 Jan 09, 05:21:17
A construct? You're saying it was deliberately and artificially created? Lawl, you act as though this is all I do with my time. You want to be the center of my world, don't you? You haven't got an argument. You haven't given a substantial answer yet. You just veer off somewhere else, tossing word salad in the hopes that we might be dazzled enough to forget that you aren't really saying anything. Which resistant people? If that were true, the cure would lie within them. Too bad it isn't true.
By: Makyui. on 07 Jan 09, 05:04:42
That's what I thought.
By: dervishmadwhirler. on 07 Jan 09, 05:02:33
AIDS is a construct and quite outside the natural scala of disease. And, yes, there are AIDS resistant people. But you are still holding up an argument just for the sake of arguing. just let go, man, you cant win, cos you are just keeping it up alone. It must be boring, over at your end; tiny world, tiny circles to run around in...

LMAO at "personhood"
By: Makyui. on 07 Jan 09, 03:35:31
You don't understand the concept of personhood, or the morals therein, do you?
By: Makyui. on 07 Jan 09, 03:34:15
Um. Resistance to disease isn't an inheritable trait. Disease is fought through antibodies in the blood, and those are only passed on through fluid exchange. And just because a young creature is given antibodies, it doesn't mean it'll be resistant to the disease later on down the line. By your logic, people who survive AIDS will give birth to AIDS-resistant children, and this is obviously not true.

NO U
By: Makyui. on 07 Jan 09, 02:24:40
It was sarcasm, indeed. And we're more complex than a bug. Just because we can hook up electronics to an insect and (vaguely) control it doesn't mean we can do the same to humans. Or, even, that we will.
By: Thorolf9. on 07 Jan 09, 02:02:12
I'm assuming that was sarcasm, and yeah, we are.
By: WW3. on 06 Jan 09, 02:35:10
Makyui doesn't know what the hell he's talking about, whereas dervish definitely does. Stop arguing on video comments. And Makyui, I'd stop watching videos all together and give your brain some time to recollect its logic.
By: Makyui. on 06 Jan 09, 00:17:18
*laughs* You know me too well already.
By: Makyui. on 06 Jan 09, 00:14:07
Holy crap, subject switch! You couldn't answer my statement, so you erected a strawman and hoped I wouldn't notice? What does that have to do with ANYTHNG? Except to demonstrate that you really don't have any idea about Nature or anything else you harp about.
By: DJXanosphere. on 05 Jan 09, 21:38:23
thats kinda mean to the animal...

"Indulge me" -translation: "give me something solid to argue against"
By: dervishmadwhirler. on 05 Jan 09, 19:26:46
In nature, if there isnt enough energy to sustain creatures at a given location, they either migrate or die. People die from microorganisms, yes, but the ones who dont are able to withstand it and their offspring is adapted to the organism. It seems rather foolish to live in a place without resources...that would mean total dependancy on instable factors.
By: dervishmadwhirler. on 05 Jan 09, 19:22:30
Technology was originally used to adapt to nature? WTF? Thats so untrue. Technology was used to mimic nature, crudely, and have control over processes that we didnt have control over. There is a big difference between using a rock to crack open a nut and wiring a moth to a remote control unit. One is adaptation, the other is megalomania. If we have the right to do this to moths, more capable beings have the right to wire us up.This line of thinking is what made the nazis experiment on jews.
By: dervishmadwhirler. on 05 Jan 09, 19:13:49
No, makyui, we should use up most natural resources to support a world of technology that is unsustainable? How wise and caring is it to destroy the habitat of your own people? To have people live a life in unbreathable air? Undrinkable water....Your problem is near-sightedness, there is also a longterm effect of technology. By supporting the incapable of society at the cost of nature is cruelty of the highest order.
By: charbroiledmonk1033. on 05 Jan 09, 04:28:49
i wonder if anyone else sees the implications of these studies. Once advancements are made, there is no telling what cant be controlled, people for instance.

By: Makyui. on 05 Jan 09, 01:33:58

By: Makyui. on 05 Jan 09, 01:32:09
Because we're just as complex as a bug.
By: VegetoStevieD. on 05 Jan 09, 01:23:07
