At the end of the day Ronnie's the big reason I wanna pursue a bodybuiding lifestyle this late in my life. Not so much coz of his size, but his personality. He made me realise that you don't have to be an arrogant prick to be a bodybuilder. He's humble, he's funny, and he's genuine. Props.

Dude I'm 6'2" 280lbs with 12-15% bodyfat. I only recently started lifting heavy and I've got 19.5" guns right now and they aint fully developed yet. I've only recently been intro'd to the whole whey protein thing, so I intend on getting bigger. And I'm like the runt of the family. Like I said I know many family members of mine who, if they were to get regemental on the whole bodybuilding lifestyle (diet, training, supplements), would give Ronnie a run for his money in terms of size naturally.

But then again he's like me, polynesian, I don't think he really needed that stuff. But to be an islander, take that stuff and not work out is just dumb. As Pacific Islanders we need to work out more than everyone else to keep the fat off. We got no problem packing on the muscle. Cutting it up is another issue.

It's a joke, dude. Relax. -This- is -not- a joke: Three groups of men, A/Worked out clean, B/ Worked out with steroids, C/ Took steroids, didn't work out. 'B' Gained the most lean weight & strength, but who came in 2nd?: 'C'! Steroids do a bit more than allow more working out. They speed recovery from more than just workouts, but from everyday wear and tear, thus causing muscle growth without working out. Well of course he takes steroids. You can't work like he does with out them. Steroids only make recovery time quicker. And if you want to work out 6-7-8 hours a day, you NEED steroids. A lot of big bodybuilders take them. Taking Steroids only means you can work out more. For bodybuilding, steroids are ok, for football, baseball, basketball, and other sports, I consider it cheating.

just finished the book and typing this post thru tears. my heart grieves for Chris, for his family and all who loved him. as a mother of two gorgeous boys i am deeply moved by his story. my heart weeps and yet fills with compassion and a hope that my boys will wisely, courageously chase their dreams. all that Chris wanted was peace, like we all do or atleast should. Krakauer obviously understood this young man, captured and perfectly conveyed Chris' soul as he penned Into The Wild. CHEERS!

You are right, the book is great. Krakauer also narrates his solo expedition to climb the Devils Thumb in chapters 14 and 15. His descriptions are so vivid and thrilling that you feel the cold of the icy field. I'm looking forward to read his other book, "Into Thin Air".

I read the book and watched the movie, really good stuff as always from Krakauer. I was moved by the story because as a youth I also dreamed about going alone into the wilderness of North America. Same thing abouth his other book Into Thin Air which I couldn't help from reading it five times!
