I'm framing in a shallow closet in a long narrow room and want to install double 28" regular doors that swing out. I've got room for them and hate those bi-fold doors. Any plans for a video on how to do double doors? Can I use that product "sure plumb" or whatever it is? Am I crazy for even trying this as I've never installed a single door?

I think you are forgetting the main point point here. This video is not intended for people who already know how to hang a door, its for first time do it 'yourselfers'. In fact he has even improved the use and instructions upon what the manufacturers recommend. I don't even know what you mean by trim legs, so your instructions are wasted on the first timer. Great vid.

Well, "conventional" or not, I would be glad to tell you how. Take your trim legs and pin them to the jam in the correct place. Insert the assembly in the door opening and pin the legs to framing keeping the reveal even. Shim behind hinges. 2" nails through jam and shims. The rest is icing on the cake.

Thank you so much! Using the product I was able to hang my first door very easily, and it came out perfect!! However ordering the product from the website, the package only includes 6 brackets. You will need two packages to hang one door Your way. Only putting them on one side was OK for the bathroom, but I will use 12 per door for the bedrooms. (In case kids want to hang from the door frames or something)

Without seeing the project its hard to say what the timeline should be. I can say if your lead carpenter is doing a quality job those doors should hang for many years into the future. Sometime pressures to get the job done quickly can lead to poor quality that should never be acceptable==Bob

thanks bob, I've been working w a seasoned carpenter and it's taken us 2 days to hang 5int. pre hung doors. Is this a standard timeline? Although these doors were 5 1/4 jambs and it was a plaster wall instead of drywall, making it time consuming.

Most exterior doors come with molding on outside of doors but if you install door from outside and put the brackets on inside of door only and bend the flange prior to installation this would work just fine.Some exterior doors are very heavy and you may want to replace one of the top hinge screws with a matching longer screw so as to reach framing for extra reinforcement I believe that would be good===Bob

Also, Gentoo Linux is something anyone can install. Its reputation for being difficult is wrong - it's simply *manual*. Typing in commands to download and compile applications, configuring your kernel, bootloader, filesystem, fstab, etc. But I think any Linux user should try it just once, in virtualization (kvm and qemu are easy). It is a unique approach for Linux distros. Not for everyone like I say, but remarkably attractive if you "get it."

Look a Gentoo Linux install is almost ritualistic - it's a kind of OS kata that anyone can learn (follow the handbook). It's not Linux from Scratch or anything, but it does allow you, as you see above, to "build" your system. It gives you many simple scripts and apps (portage) to make this possible. It is not for everyone. But I've been running it since 2002, and I haven't found a reason to switch (and I run many other distros in emulation via KVM). For my purposes, Gentoo *still* rocks.

I can. It's actually very easy. Try to install it ~2 times and you'll remember what you have to do to install Gentoo. And the commands... the point is in what these commands do, not what commands do that. So you should try to memorize what are you doing, not steps or commands.

There's no real installer for Gentoo (except an old outdated installer which no one uses) - You're meant to install it all yourself (following the handbook) - the Install CD is just a minimal environment with some of the tools required for installation.

Awesome system... And it doesn't arm the ukulele much as far as I can see. Just one question. If you have a ukulele where the saddle is a lot wider than the pick up (I'm thinking of some mahalo ukuleles where the nu-bone saddle is very wide )? Does it affects the sound a lot ? Ok thank you much...I must say in advance I dread this challenge. Ive watched guys lifting toilets they look awkwardly heavy how much does one weigh? One more question; What if I smash the bolts when trying to line up the toilet over them just what if? Is that ok and do I get another chance to try and line it up? A standard wax ring will work be it a thin or thick wax ring depending on the depth of the flange to floor surface.Unless there is something wrong with flange it should not have to be replaced.Most wax rings have toilet bolts in the package already.If the flange is damaged I have a video about a simple repair to a common flange problem that may help.Good Luck===Bob Also just flushing toilet may not be good enough to eliminate water get rubber gloves a sponge and a bucket to remove rest of water

As Kohta points out, you could in fact caulk the back of the flange, but is not required since there is a good seal on the exterior surface with self adhered membrane, and low expansion foam seal between the window and the frame. Care should be taken that the caulking is compatible with the building materials, and that the bottom flange of the window is not caulked. The Water Management Guide reads, "Sealant bead at jambs and head may be optional base on risk factors"

This jack can last longer if you dont take the plug out and put back in too much, I used to do that when I wanted to pause the music and after about a year it broke. If you put it and leave here you won't have this problem

Hello I recently used your video/technique to replace my headphone jack in my 60gig 5th gen ipod. It is still not playing any audio. Could there be another reason for this? Preferably without getting rid of all my files. I'm about ready to send this thing to apple and pay $150, but I figured I'd comment you and check to see if you had any other suggestions.
