angelmike can u help me this is something that has bothered me for over 6months ok im at 3.52m33-4 and i cannot get to 3.71m33, because i might of bought this in china the code thing on the bottom of the psp has PSP 1006 and it shold be different from others anyways whenever i try upgrading and followed instructions it bricks so i have a pandora to unbrick and the pandora can upgrade my psp to 3.71m33 but it still doesnt work it turns black and then i turn it on it bircks again so please help :D

I just gave up on it, plus it deleted some of my partitions, and disactivated some of it, so the partition were my dad had all his work is gone....I dont recommend this shit anymore. maybe try fedora but i havent tried it yet.

I have saved this page. It is a great step by step to find your way to multimedia PLUS helps one find their way around other features of the media phone tools; the F6 was a great hint. HINT TO OTHERS: Check your USB cable, swap it out for another one if you have any troubles with this tutorial. I fought it for a long time, finally got a new cable and BINGO, there it all is. Thanks to dustincimino for a very clear, instructive video! And thanks to You Tube for the ability to share it!

If your phone isn't being detected, you might need to change your USB settings. On your phone, go to Main Menu, Settings, USB settings. You don't want it set to memory card. Depending on your phone, you will have different options, Data, Modem, or Data Connection. Select whichever one of those you have, and then start over from the beginning with the instructions in the tutorial, and it should work for you. It did for me anyway :)
