We saw this show in Boston last week-it was amazing!! But..they didn't use this instrument in the show. I did ask someone associated with the theatre how often they change the show and he said 'only one slight change in 2003'! Wow, same show every night!! Many people have seen this show multiple times-it is that amazing and sooo much fun! And with the audience participation I guess that can change things up a little, too!!!

this might even be physically possible. i mean, those ARE working instruments. Just not the shape we're used to.. you maybe could even translate real instruments to these things (just the motions) digitally. Would be quite nice to have this in a physical form and not a CGA.

People need to learn to read. It is not fake, it's CGI. It's only fake in the sense that they aren't real instruments, the music itself is plenty real. You know, you wouldn't be hearing it if it was fake. And also, yes, it has been said that if you got a few people together in real life you could play this song. I'll never understand people who want to shout "FAKE" at everything. The song is beautiful, how it's produced doesn't matter.

The sounds are actually synthesized, very very well, but still synthetic. The program they are working on is basically like an electronic keyboard, except instead of you playing it, the computer plays it. You tell it what notes to strike, and the program does it and creates the music inside the program. While the graphics are tuned up for this song, you can see some of the basic prototypes, or at least you used to be able to, on their site.

yes, most people traveled to Switzerland to get one (Bern, Switzerland to be exact). some lucky few found theirs from US distributors back when they were being distributed in the US. Currently the Hang makers are on a "break" for who-knows-how-long. You can mail a letter to them and get on the waiting list, or check out the possible alternatives from pantheonsteel (dot) com or blackbells (dot) com to get on their lists to buy whatever they end up developing that's similar.

Cool trick man. I have a question about editing samples (zones) though. Is there a quicker way to adjust start and end times within the editor other than dragging the mouse up and down for half anhour? can u assign those editing parameters to say, A midi or a shift option perhaps that might speed things up? I'm used to working with an asr10 wher you click on sample start time, trigger the sample over and over while adjusting a slider until it lays just right. Any suggestions?

Kontakt) in the arrange window without havning to go to the mixer and do this on the aux channels. If you create a multi-out instrument, go to the mixer view and click the plus sign at the bottom of the instrument's channel strip. This will create all of the auxes needed for the instrument, and you can keep the auxes out of the arrange window. If the multi-instrument's midi channel is set to 'All', then it listens to all channels.... I may be misunderstanding your point, tho.

Sure now we have alot of midi tracks & Aux�s in the arrange. We can edit the midi & solo the AUX�s. Is this the ONLY way to go for solo/mute/volume/automation? Reminds me of old Pro Tools were midi channels never controlled volume of instruments. But then came instrument channels (tada!) I have a really hard time accepting isn�t a much easier way. One channel should be enough (please god make it so) Hope to really solve this one Ninja...

(extendeds screen mode) example on my left screen i would have my track and on the right screen i would have my Eq;s or plugins...I find it a lot easier to record this way and since i dont have studio 8 yet im wanting to make sure that i Can split the screens and use my 2 monitors like i usally do. I love how these sisters finesse a song down to the wire. Instrument is one of my favorites! But can anyone tell me who comes in towards the end of that song on the album? It sounds like Usher, but I know it's not him. Whoever hatched the idea of putting that voice in there was right on time. It just a perfect fit. And the reprise was icin' on da cake!! And I must say that on the album those sisters are phenomenal but Twinkie came with a bag of tricks and straight ripped it!

Here's an uptempo set, it's not finished yet.
I trigger drumkits within Ableton Live with the M-Audio trigger finger, I record the drums into an empty clip slot and then add layers of sound on top of the drums. I also use the crossfader within Live which is assigned to a number of tracks ...very cool feature.
p.s. Scratching in 90 degree weather SUCKS!!!
