Omg, saying that Tony Iommy, the guy who FRIGGIN INVENTED 80% OF METAL RIFFS EVER MADE (or at least the good ones) isn't good is downright stupid. So i definitely agree with you on appreciating qualiy more than speed. And Trust me i play guitar and the songs Wicked World, Black Sabbath, WARNING(especially), War Pigs, Fairies Wear Boots, Symptom of the Universe, and all his albums from dio on are Difficult to play and i no i play all of Sabbaths, Zepplin, Hendrix,Blackmore, ect. and Black Sabbaths Later stuff is harder and there first album so take my advice and start respecting.

granted i agree with you but out of both queens and metallicas members, metallica had the better basist (burton), better lead (kirk), and better drummer (larz), queen however had a better lead singer of course in mercury. I am a fan of both bands, but its just the truth =/ (it was hard picking who was better between kirk and brian but kirk edges him out, but brian is definantly top 25 guitarist all time i believe though)

So many people compare one singer to another, and I have to say, it's incredibly unfair. Everyone has something new they bring to a song, so saying one is better than the other is wrong. They're going to be different, and we may like one version better than another, but that doesn't necessarily make one singer better than another. Personally I love both Daltrey And Mercury, and I'm sure Rodgers did a good job too. But to diss one over the other is just unfair. RIP Freddie. We love you.

That white Strat that Tony Iommi is using, is the guitar used on most of the first Black Sabbath album. Until it 'broke'. What he meant by 'broke' is not known. He finished the album off with a white SG. His spare guitar at the time. From then on, he used his red SG's.

The only thing playing live is Ian Anderson's flute, not even his voice and definitely not Tony Iommi. He is miming to MicK Abrahams work. He was never officially in Tull, though he does credit Tull with showing his then band Earth, which morphed into Sabbath, how hard one must work to succeed. I grew up with both, Tull vastly the superior officer in live performance.

This is what is wrong with they current Deep Purple they play weak . This is what they sound sound more like. Tony is the hard rock riff master , am glad he still likes to play heavy. dude, this is great. try to play more iommi hughes stuff, i think that was his heaviest stuff, and it sounded great then, but you cant beat sabbath, dio sabbath or ozzy, but meeting iommi was so killer. he put me on his gues list and when i went to see the concert he spotted me out in the crowd. haha it was so amazing. i know probably none of you will believe me. but its the truth

I feel it was Ritchie Blackmore from Deep Purple along with Tony Iommi who invented the hard rock sound . The Deep Purple In Rock album from 1970 is a real heavy one, no other bands were playing that heavy, except for Sabbath. Hendrix sounded heavy live at Woodstock but Blackmore's guitar has aggresive edge to it.

Well, you know, Ammitt, I would prefer to agree with your take on who invented Heavy Metal. When I think of Black Sabbath's first album, "Black Sabbath," I think, wow, nobody's ever done this before! Then their second album, "Paranoid"--probably the greatest metal album ever made. I mean, my own common sense tells me it must've been Iommi, but it's just that I have read music writers who said it was Hendrix. Maybe an accurate definition of 'heavy metal' would be helpful with determining this.
