the story 2 this song is: that it was inspired by the cllasical persian poet Nezami Ganjava's "The Story of Layla & Majnun" which Eric happen 2 have read. its tells of a young man who fell hoplessly in luv w/a beautiful woman who was unavailale & he went crazy cause he couldnt marry her. of all of his songs this was the 1st 1 heard back in the days (that i know of) unless my brother played them & i was busy just bein an infant (& my favorite)
