First Person Shooter Reenactment Posted by: krispy432
Video duration: 109 seconds Wait for the part with the deck chair. It was totally improvised. Some friends of mine were bored last summer and decided to try and recreate a first person shooter, like in the style of Goldeneye or Perfect Dark. Keep in mind that this is in no way professional, and is mostly unrehearsed and in one take, so I wouldn't go into this with too high of standards if you know what I mean. No heart or soul are you kinding me??? They're both great drummers, but saying that Buddy didn't put heart into his drumming is stupid...

One of the great drummers of all time. Chick Webb, Cozy Cole, Buddy Rich, Eric Delaney and moving on to Cozy Powell and Clive Bunker. Hat's off to the drummer!

Ok,I see your point, yes Rich had speed, but Krupa had class. Thanks for clearing that up.

I am a huge fan of Gene Krupa. He is the most fascinating and entertaining drummer I have seen. I was really referring to Buddy Rich's speed, regarding brilliance .
By: mickim1953. on 25 Dec 08, 04:56:46
Not as brilliant as Buddy Rich? What planet are you on? If it were;nt for drummers such as Krupa and Belson,Buddy Rich would be no where.Rich was nothing but flash,he had no heart or soul to his drumming,Gene Krupa was and will always be the #1 innovator of jazz drums. Not as brillant as Buddy Rich? Give me a break!

The king of the floor tom tom use. Later used by the likes of Sandy Nelson and other 60s drummers for surfing music ext. The true pioneer of drummers, although not as brilliant as Buddy Rich,Gene Krupa was the father of drummers who followed.

Krupa was Polish American.

hahaha, i find it funny that you are talking about disgusting degrading things, and your account have the word jackass in it. not to be rude. i totally agree with you. i just thought it was kinda funny

Well I mean, my favorite musician has been Prince since I was 7 years old, so obviously I can appreciate the technological side of music as well as the true technical side. i didn't mean to make it sound as though i was insulting ALL of them. i'm just talking about the ones who make millions and millions by talking and rapping into a microphone, and usually about disgusting, degrading things
By: pillowstomper. on 18 Dec 08, 15:45:33
haha, yeah. eminem isn't who i'm talking about though. i'm saying you made a gross generalization about computerized music and musicians. the work of artists such as Daft Punk, MGMT, and The Dust Brothers cannot be denied. In truth I'm not a big tech, rap, or hip hop junky but I can appreciate nearly any kind of music. You aren't pissing me off, I apologize if I came off hostile. I just think that anyone who is an intellectual ought to learn to appreciate all forms of art within a medium.
By: steevojackass. on 18 Dec 08, 04:46:27
all i'm saying is ask eminem to play you a C scale hahaha i'm not trying to piss you off i'm just expressing my correct opinion on today's music vs. real music
By: pillowstomper. on 18 Dec 08, 03:46:38
Have you tried to make music with computer programs? It is an art, some of it has meaning, and in order for that to be the case it takes work. I agree that there are very famous people without much talent, but there are talented people making music with these "fake instruments" and some of it is very good and has meaning. Rather than stating a general distaste maybe you should take note that every generation complains about the music of the next.
By: steevojackass. on 18 Dec 08, 02:15:22
all i'm saying is that i don't appreciate the laziness. how many of these hip hop stars have real musical talent and ability? none! 90 percent of them don't even know what a concert Bb is. instead of using real instruments respectfully, these days people make money from using a computer program to fake instruments. to me, it's dispicable. we should never let music like what is being shown in this video die. ever. it's real.
By: BibiBearz06. on 18 Dec 08, 02:06:59
HEY! each time period has their own music, and everybody has different tastes sure this kind of music is great but dang times have been changed!
By: bURRkEEF. on 17 Dec 08, 21:09:44
Ah yes!
By: steevojackass. on 16 Dec 08, 23:53:47
REAL music makes you sad to hear the absolute GARBAGE they're coming out with these days. computerized bullshit with no real meaning

Wow- if you ever played in Gene Krupas' band you better have had an unbelievably good sense of time. Has anyone heard a tighter horn section than this?
